Harmony in Humanity Peace Poster Contest

Ages 11-13 can participate in the annual Van Buren Lions Club Peace Poster Contest competing for Cash Prizes! First Place $100, Second Place $50, Third Place $25

First place advances to the district level judging for opportunity in the Lions Club International level for chance at a grand prize of $5,000. Get inspiration and learn more about the Lions International Peace Poster Contest.

How to Enter

Review the Poster Rules below and bring artwork with Entry Form to Arts On Main, 415 Main Street, Van Buren. Arts On Main will have entry forms.

Bring Posters to Arts On Main by September 5th

Arts On Main will jury the posters for First Place, Second Place, and Third Place. The Van Buren Lions Club will notify the winners. The winners will receive their awards at a special awards luncheon on September 16th.

  • First Place $100

Poster Theme

The theme “Harmony in Humanity” invites young people to imagine a world where people of every culture and background live together peacefully — celebrating differences, finding common ground and creating true harmony in humanity.

Poster Rules

For ages 11, 12 or 13 years of age on Nov. 15, 2026.

Entries not meeting the rules (download Rules PDF) listed below will be disqualified:

  • Poster artwork must reflect the theme “Harmony in Humanity”

  • Poster size no smaller than 13 x 20 inches and no larger than 20 x 24 inches.

  • Artwork should be done on flexible material so it may be rolled for shipping in a mailing tube.

  • Only one entry per student and must be the work of only one student.

  • Chalk, charcoal and pastel entries should be sealed with a fixative spray to prevent smearing.

  • NO three-dimensional entries will not be accepted.

  • NO AI generated art. Artwork must be the individual student’s original creation.

  • DO NOT put your name or initials on the front of the poster. Artist signature or initials should be written on the back of the poster.

  • NO lettering or numbering on the front of the poster, in any language.

  • DO NOT glue, staple or attach anything to the artwork in any way.

  • DO NOT fold poster. DO NOT mat or frame artwork. DO NOT laminate artwork.
