Ralph Irwin: Van Buren’s Artist

  • Arts On Main 415 Main Street Van Buren, AR, 72956 United States (map)

Opening Reception
January 16, 6:00-8:00 pm

"I come from a family of craftsmen; all masons. When we moved here to Arkansas, I was able to take my studies, a degree in Art History, and parlay that into the trade that I have today. I am a multimedia artist. I work with about 40 different mediums; woodstone, glass, fiber, and design. I also paint, sculpt-all those different things. You really feel blessed to be able to work at something you feel like you were created to do. I feel like I have done something for [our communities' artists], and given them things that otherwise they were never going to have. As an artist, I see myself as a communicator. It's a way of telling a story. I am a storyteller." ~ Ralph Irwin
