In this class, students will have the opportunity to strengthen their foundational drawing skills by refining their observation abilities through consistent practice. Exercises will include studying sculptural forms to better understand contour and shape, utilizing still life compositions of food. The class emphasizes a collaborative approach, encouraging participants to contribute a dish to be included in the still life arrangement.
The first hour will consist of instruction focused on drawing techniques, aimed at developing attention to detail and accuracy in capturing form and shape.
The second hour will be dedicated to self-directed work, allowing participants to eat and commune, draw, or do both.
Please bring a dish suitable for serving up to 10 people, from saltines or simple snacks to elaborate items, or anything in between, homemade or store bought - you get the idea. Keep in mind that the food will be displayed for drawing, sharing, and consumption.
